Dental hygiene practice continues to evolve alongside advances in periodontal science, prevention strategies, and patient-centered care. Yet many clinical environments still rely on traditional models that may not fully reflect the education, clinical judgment, and responsibility of today’s dental hygienist. This continuing education course introduces the concept of professional stewardship as a framework for understanding the modern dental hygiene role. Through relatable clinical scenarios, guided discussion, and reflective exercises, participants will explore how ethics, accountability, patient advocacy, and clinical decision-making influence daily practice.
